My real estate experience spans a period of thirty-five years with sales experience throughout the Monterey Peninsula. My most recent years have been spent working primarily in Carmel, Carmel Valley and Pebble Beach though my early years saw me work wherever the opportunity presented itself and taught me the roads and streets throughout the peninsula. The ever growing complexities of transactions and the rules and regulations of each area make it expeditious to concentrate one’s efforts.
I arrived on the peninsula, like many others, quite by accident from the Midwest. Following the completion of graduate school, I was invited to visit Carmel and that short visit resulted in my returning immediately to the peninsula where I taught reading to handicapped children for some years. A family event left me managing a supermarket and that caused me to realize that I had some business skills and enjoyed the people I met. A friend suggested I would enjoy real estate so like many others, I went to the local real estate school and began a career part-time. It took a few years, but I suddenly realized my real estate career had grown into a full time occupation and I made the transition. The completion of my Broker’s license really seemed to be the one thing I can point to that solidified my knowledge of real estate and helped me be more effective for my clients. A natural love of cameras, computers and electronic toys has helped as well as all of these items are of great use in real estate and contribute a little fun to each and every day.
My sales history of over $395,000,000 tells the story of my success but it doesn’t say anything about the wonderful people I have met and worked with and the experiences I have had. My natural curiosity helps me keep abreast of the market and friendships in the field help me learn about upcoming opportunities before they are generally available. A little advance knowledge is an invaluable asset in representing buyers and sellers.
I utilize clerical assistance, but when you hire me as your agent, you get ME and I return your phone calls, do my best to present your property to the public and resolve the inevitable issues, big and small that occur during the process of the transaction.
My knowledge of the history of many properties in Carmel and Pebble Beach has often turned out to be a fantastic bonus when representing either a buyer or a seller. All I know for sure is that I will do my best to achieve that goal.
I have a Broker’s license, am a Certified Residential Specialist and currently plan to accomplish $15 to $20 million worth of sales per year.
